Arrival by Air
If you are traveling to Hangzhou from other parts of the world or within China, you will arrive at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. From there, you have the option to take a taxi or an airport shuttle bus to the downtown area. For those coming from Shanghai, many choose to travel by train, coach, taxi, or rental car due to the short distance between Hangzhou and Shanghai.
Transportation from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport to the City Center:
Airport Shuttle:
The shuttle bus departs from the waiting room near the north of Entrance 5 on the first floor of the Arrival Hall. It takes passengers to the Wulin Gate stop in downtown Hangzhou.
Ticket prices: 20 yuan. Operating hours: 7:30 am to 9:30 pm with intervals of 30 minutes. From 9:30 am to 5 pm, intervals are 15 minutes. (Note: intervals refer to the waiting time between buses).
Taxi:
The taxi stand is located outside Entrance 5 of the Arrival Hall on the first level. A taxi ride from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport to downtown Hangzhou should cost no more than 100 yuan.
Fare: The basic fare is 11 yuan (10 yuan for the first 3 km and an additional 1 yuan for fuel fees). For distances within 10 km, the rate is 2 yuan/km; for distances above 10 km, the rate is 3 yuan/km. The waiting charge is 2 yuan for every 5 minutes.
