Henan University of Chinese Medicine, located in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, is a provincial key university jointly established by the People’s Government of Henan Province and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a characteristic backbone university in Henan Province. "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program for Higher-Level College Students", Ministry of Education Chinese Government Scholarship Student Cultivation Universities, National Traditional Chinese Medicine International Cooperation Base, Doctoral Degree Authorization Unit, Henan Province "Double First-Class" Discipline Creation Unit[67] . The predecessor of the school was the Henan Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Training School founded in 1953. In September 1958, Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established; in 1981, the school was approved as the first batch of master's degree conferring units, and in January 2009, it was determined to be a doctoral degree authorized construction Unit; In 2012, the school became a university of the "National Central and Western Higher Education Revitalization Plan"; on January 26, 2016, the Ministry of Education approved Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine to be renamed Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine; on March 10, 2016, Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine officially changed its name Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

According to the official website of the school in July 2022, the school has 5 campuses, the campus covers an area of 1840.8 mu, and the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 497 million yuan; there are 21 colleges, 33 undergraduate majors and 2 second bachelor's degrees There are 1,536 faculty members, including 1,305 full-time teachers, more than 20,000 regular full-time students, including 2,791 master students, 155 doctoral students, and more than 100 international students.
