South China University of Technology, formerly known as South China Institute of Technology, can be traced back to the first type A industrial school established in Guangdong Province in 1918. Based on the engineering department and majors of Lingnan University Institute of Technology and Guangdong Industrial College, some engineering departments and majors were transferred to Hunan University, Wuchang Zhonghua University, Wuhan Jiaotong University, Nanchang University, and Guangxi University. The school is divided into three campuses. Wushan Campus is located in Shipai High School District, Tianhe District; University City Campus is located in Guangzhou University City, Panyu District; Guangzhou International Campus is located in Innovation City, Panyu District.
